About Us

Ilean Helland is Assistant to the President, Harold S. Koplewicz, MD, and has managed his offices for the past 10 years, which includes not only the Child Mind Institute but also The Nathan Kline Institute, NYU Child Study Center and his office of External Affairs at NYU Langone Medical Center. Prior to joining forces with Dr. Koplewicz, she managed the production office and personal properties of the director Mike Nichols for many years. She was Merchandising Director and Regional Advertising Director for Modern Bride Magazine and West Coast Editor for Seventeen Magazine and marketing consultant to such firms as L’Oreal International, General Mills, Waterford Crystal and Angelo Donghia, and was Junior Fashion Events Director for a chain of 19 department stores in Southern California. As her entry into the non-profit sector, she produced the very first fundraising event sponsored by the fashion industry for AmFAR, which raised over $1 million in the mid-80’s. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of The Fashion Group International for two years. Her broad knowledge and success in such diverse areas allows a unique perspective and insight into the many initiatives at the Child Mind Institute.
