About Speak Up for Kids!
Speak Up For Kids! is a nationwide education campaign developed by the Child Mind Institute and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), and sponsored by Hunter Boot and Parents magazine, to raise awareness about psychiatric and learning disorders in children. This week, National Children's Mental Health Awareness Week (May 1-7), more than 500 child and adolescent psychiatrists and other mental health professionals are participating in the effort by educating parents and teachers through talks, flyers, op-eds, Q&As, and social media. Together, they will create awareness in communities across the nation that early diagnosis and intervention are key to children’s success in school, with friends, and at home.
