Children and adolescents who present with major depression or bipolar disorder can challenge the most experienced of clinicians. In this workshop we will review the literature concerning appropriate diagnosis and treatment of these patients and address the latest data on evidence-based treatments. We will also address some of the current controversies in the field.  

Bring your questions and difficult cases: Our experienced child and adolescent psychiatrists and pediatric psychopharmacologists, Ron Steingard, MD, and Steven Dickstein, MD, will devote a significant period of time to discuss those cases whom the participants are struggling to help.

This workshop is part of Practical Clinical Strategies in Children's Mental Health: A summer workshop series for mental health professionals.

As clinicians, we all strive to collaborate effectively across disciplines to provide children and their families with the best mental health care possible. Having the most up-to-date information gives us the language and tools to collaborate more effectively with our colleagues and consultants. This program is an opportunity for mental health clinicians to hear practical and current information on the most common diagnostic categories seen by psychologists and psychotherapists from our experienced child and adolescent psychiatrists and pediatric psychopharmacologists, Ron Steingard, MD, and Steven Dickstein, MD.  

This program will also give attendees an opportunity to discuss challenging cases with our expert clinicians.
