More and more, clinicians encounter children and adolescents who are on the spectrum in their offices. This workshop will focus on the current understanding of how behavioral and emotional difficulties present in those with autism spectrum disorder. We will review effective evidence-based approaches to treatment including psychotherapeutic interventions and educational support, and give an in-depth primer on medication treatments for symptoms of aggression, anxiety, mood, and impulsivity.

We will discuss treatment approaches for those youth who are treatment-resistant, and include time for participants to pose clinical questions to our expert pediatric psychopharmacologists Ron Steingard, MD, and Steven Dickstein, MD.

Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP.

This workshop is part of Practical Clinical Strategies in Children's Mental Health: A summer workshop series for mental health professionals.
