PCIT Training Academy: Initial Didactic Training

In accordance with the PCIT National Training Guidelines, work towards certification in parent-child interaction therapy begins with 40 hours of classroom-style education over 5 consecutive days. The Child Mind Institute's PCIT Training Academy offers these didactic training sessions throughout the year, in addition to the ongoing consultation on clinical cases required for certification.

NEXT DIDACTIC TRAINING: July 9-13, 2012

The CMI PCIT initial didactic training workshops are held over five days in New York, NY at 445 Park Avenue. The workshops are designed for child therapists and treatment researchers at the Master's or Doctoral level seeking training leading to certification as a PCIT therapist. CMI's Master Trainers provide introduction to the evidence-based PCIT protocol, with emphasis on fine-tuning of fundamental PCIT skills and enhancing coding, coaching, and therapy process skills to engage and motivate families to meet treatment completion criteria efficiently.

Following completion of a 5-day workshop, participants may arrange for ongoing consultation through CMI on two or more PCIT cases, depending on therapist skill acquisition.
