National Campaign Highlights Barriers to Children’s Mental Health Care
May 2, 2013 PBS Metro FocusDr. Koplewicz kicked off Speak Up for Kids with a visit to PBS MetroFocus to talk about why we must speak up and how. The campaign coincides with National Mental Health Awareness Month, starting on May 1, the month-long online dialogue promotes children's mental health and helps eliminate barriers to care. Responding to President Obama's call for a national conversation about mental health in the wake of the tragedy in Newtown, Speak Up for Kids brings together the nation's mental health leadership and gives parents the information they need to remove stigma and get kids effective mental health care.
