Speak Up for Kids
Creating change for children’s mental health
Speak Up for Kids is the Child Mind Institute’s signature public information campaign. Held each May, the campaign focuses attention on children’s mental health through dynamic events and by providing accurate information that raises awareness, removes stigma, and empowers children and their families with help, hope, and answers.
We are honored to work with our corporate, government, and nonprofit partners to raise our collective voice for the more than 15 million children who face mental health or learning challenges in the US.
Speak Up for Kids 2015
This May, Speak Up for Kids will feature the Change Maker Awards and the Children's Mental Health Report.
The Change Maker Awards will be held on May 4th in New York City to celebrate change makers — celebrities, leaders, organizations and local heroes — who give voice to children’s mental health. Award categories include Champion, Corporate Advocate, Activist, Community Builder and Local Hero. Honorees for the Community Builder and Local Hero award will be selected through crowd-sourced nominations from the public and our partners.
Nominate your favorite mental health hero by March 30th to participate. Winners and honorable mentions will be announced in late April.
The Children's Mental Health Report will shed light on the state of children’s mental health in the US. Released at the awards, the report will feature data points and information drawn from leading studies to inform the national conversation.
We invite you to nominate your favorite mental health hero! Join the growing chorus of children, parents, educators, researchers, organizations and leaders who Speak Up for Kids.
